Edited Movie Company Shutting Down

Well, things are getting interesting in the world of edited movies and edited dvds.

It seems as if one of the last remaining sellers of edited movies is shutting their doors soon. I was told this during a private conversation so I won’t mention the company by name. However, any existing customers of theirs should be getting the news soon as the company attempts to wind down any existing inventory they still have on their shelves and shutter their doors for good.

The advent of clearplay, the company who sells subscription services and ‘dongle’ usb devices for downloading the most recent dvd edits and letting you play ‘regular’ (unedited) dvds on your dvd player and stream the movies while they are ‘edited’ or ‘altered’ in real time, has made this irrelevant for some.

However, there is still a fervent demand by some for good, quality, clean family entertainment.

The market, for artistic, or business reasons is not being served adequately, and it will be interesting to see if the market is just not big enough for Hollywood to cater to and if someone else will step in and attempt to fill the void left by the latest market exit.
